Sandusky sweeps Willard
The Sandusky High School Bowling Squads traveled to Dynasty Lanes in Willard and came away with a sweep of the Crimson Flashes in SBABC action on Tuesday afternoon.
The Sandusky girls team defeated the Willard Flashes 2,283 to 2,000. Sandusky shot regular games of 817-710 for a 1,527 pin total and a 154 pin lead heading into baker shooting, where Sandusky outscored Willard 756-627. Leading in scoring for Sandusky was senior Marissa Kieffer with 207-190 for a 397 series. Senior Kerri Riebold added 177-138 for 315 total. Leading in scoring for the Flashes was Danielle Bruner with a 364 series. Senior Nikki Sims added a 358 series.
The Sandusky Blue Streak boys squad defeated the Crimson Flashes 2,598 to 2,563. The Streaks led by 30 pins after the regular games, and outscored Willard in bakers 843-838. Leading the way for the Streaks was sophomore Andrew Barnum with 160-231 for a 391 series. Freshmen Dalton Schenk added 181-208 for a 389 total. Leading scorer for Willard was William Winiarski with a 381 total."Dynasty Lanes in Willard has always been tough for the varsity boys squad to win at and today’s match was no exception,” Sandusky head coach Bob Dickman said. “Back and forth all day. Andrew Barnum came up big for Sandusky in Baker shooting today. When we needed a strike or a mark late in baker game, Andrew stepped up and delivered.
The Sandusky Bowling squads are off until this Friday, January 21st, 2011, when they meet the Perkins Pirates in the " Hometown Showdown" match at Cedar Lanes with a 4pm start.

“The girls jumped out early and sustained the lead. Spare shooting was not very good today, so we need to improve on this facet of our teams.”
