Outstanding Bowling

There were several outstanding bowling efforts last week from local high school bowlers.

Lorain's Collin Velasquez against Black River rolled a 225 and 257 for a 482 series. He is the only freshman on the team.

"He had really proven himself to be a great asset to the team, an all-around team player," coach Theresa Velasquez who also is Collin's Aunt.

Another freshman with a big day was Amherst's Gino Delmonico who against Elyria Catholic rolled a 224-279 for 503 series.

Elyria's Mike Sullivan did well on the collegiate lane conditions at HP Lanes in Columbus as part of the OSU Buckeye Classic on Saturday. Sullivan bowled 223-240-190 and was named part of the All Tournament Team.

Sandusky senior co-captain Ben Dickman rolled a 169-279-198 for a 646 series at the Sandusky Bay Area Bowling Conference tournament. The 279 game was Dickman's all-time high in High School competition. He helped the Blue Streaks to a third place finish.
