Morning Journal Boys Basketball Player of the Week Nominees
There were several strong performances from boys basketball players in our area this week. Here are several talented nominees for Morning Journal Player of the Week.
Lorain head coach Andy Bastock nominated Jerome Golson who had 17 points and 16 rebounds in an important conference win against Shaw. It was his second double-double of the season.
Avon Lake head coach Eric Smith nominated Ronnie Willoughby who had 35 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals in wins over Midview and Midpark. He is averaging nearly 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists a game.
Brookside head coach Steve Lias nominated sophomore Joe Hyster who had a combined 28 points, 23 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 blocks in wins over Black River and Fairview.
Keystone head coach Greg Morgan nominated Caleb Schillace who had a combined 30 points, 35 rebounds, 9 assists and 3 steals in two wins for the Wildcats. He had 24 rebounds in the win over Wellington.
The Morning Journal Players of the Week will be revealed in the Edge on Friday.
