Sandusky bowling sweeps St. Joseph CC
The Sandusky Bowlers completed a sweep of the Crimson Streaks of Fremont St. Joseph Central Catholic on Monday afternoon at Cedar Lanes in SBABC action.
On the girls side, The Blue Streaks defeated the Crimson Streaks 2,189 to 1,821. Sandusky held a 217 pin lead after 2 games and outscored the Crimson in bakers 771-620. Leading in scoring for Sandusky was Senior Co-captain Marissa Kieffer with games of 157-162 for a 319 total. Leading in scoring for Fremont St. Joseph CC was Katie Holdman with a 318 series.
The Sandusky Boys defeated the Crimson Streaks 2,670 to 1,821. Sandusky lead by 582 pins after 2 regular games and outscored the Fremont St. Joseph squad 854-567. Leading the way for the Sandusky was freshmen Kyle Dickman with scores of 162-234 for a 396 series. Sophomore Andrew Barnum added a 369 series. Leading the way for the Crimson Streaks was Aar 280 on Zetzer with a 280 series.
"Not a very good day on the lanes for Sandusky High. Although we won, we did not bowl anywhere close to our capabilities today,” Dickman said. “We need to get back to the basics of spare shooting and reading the lanes better and throwing good shots. But, a win is a win so we will take it and must get better before Woodmore comes to town on Friday afternoon."
