Sandusky bowling regular season finale

Sandusky Bowlers regular season finale earned a split with Fremont Ross in SBABC action at Plaza Lanes in Fremont on Wednesday afternoon.
The Sandusky girls defeated the Giants 2,354-1,817. Sandusky led after 2 regular games by 292 pins and outscored Fremont in 4 baker games 695-450. Senior Co-captain Marissa Kieffer lead the Blue Streaks with 217-210 for a 427 series. Senior Hillary Yost added 198-170 for a 368 series and freshmen Liz Janshego chipped in with 138-181 for a 319 series. Leading in scoring for Fremont Ross was Ashley Vaerewyck with 148-245 for a 393 series. The Sandusky Girls finished the regular season with a 15-3 record and a SBABC American Division Title.
The Sandusky boys were defeated by Fremont Ross 3,022 to 2,946. The Blue Streaks were down by 102 pins after 2 regular games and outscored the Little Giants in bakers 1,006-980 in 5 baker games.
Leading the way for Sandusky was Sophomore Andrew Barnum with 249-165 for 414 series. Senior Co-captain JP Vincent chipped in with 406 series. Leading scorer for Fremont Ross was sophomore Brandon Weiker with a superb 280-258 for a 538 series. Sandusky finished up with a 13-6 season record.
"The Sandusky Boys squad was in a shootout with Ross today, and nearly pulled off the win," Head coach Bob Dickman said. "They fought back from 102 pins down to get within 18 after 3 baker games, but could not get any closer. The Girls squad is bowling exceptionally well right now, just in time for Districts in Rossford this Saturday. Very proud of all Sandusky Bowling teams, they had a good season."
The Sandusky girls will be in action in Rossford for Districts on Saturday. Senior Co-captain JP Vincent will participate in the boys districts on Friday as an individual.
