The Avon Lake Wrestling Team took second at the Cuyahoga Heights Wrestling Tournament with 187 points, finishing behind Barberton. Taking second places for the Shoremen were Evan Potts (130), Will Muller (135), Caleb Rojek (171), Matt Sokolow (189), and Cory Frank (285). Austin Spenzer (145) and Jimmy Emerson (152) finished 3rd, while Anthony Gerrone (103) and Jeffrey Braunsdorf placed 4th.

"I was pleased to finish in second and having 9 wrestlers place," head coach Ken Weaver said. "We finished that high due to the bonus points we picked up, most of those being pins. Cory Frank and Matt Sokolow had 4 pins each, to lead the way."
